Every woman is different and makes the transition through the menopause in their own way, either the medical route or the natural route such as Homeopathy. Some breeze through with very few symptoms and others or most struggle with hot flashes, fatigue, anxiety, palpitations or other symptoms.
Sadly modern medicine doesn’t allow women to listen to their bodies. Instead of tuning in and acknowledging that their lifestyle choices may be making them sick, they opt for a chemical pill to suppress the symptoms for a while. HRT can work wonders for some women, but it simply postpones the inevitable. When HRT is stopped the body immediately resumes back to its menopausal changes and symptoms are often worse due to the dramatic and sudden fall in hormone levels. So it’s much better to learn to deal with the gradual fall of hormone levels, both physically and emotionally, in your late 30’s, 40’s and 50’s rather than delay the process with a Pill.
As a Homeopath I aim to work out the underlying cause of why women are struggling through the menopausal phase. I often find that many of the problem’s women experience at this time are due to poor nutrition and exhaustion, rather than falling hormone levels.

Diet – often high in sugar, carbs or alcohol
Shock – relationships, grief
Synthetic Oestrogen and Progesterone – contraceptive pill, HRT

Sepia this one is great for women who have been on the contraceptive pill or HRT for long stretch of time. They’re often exhausted, feel weak with dragging down sensation almost as if their pelvic organs will fall out! They have lots of hot flashes, can have dryness of the vagina
Oophorinum great for hot flashes and periods that are frequent too early or short duration.
Lachesis for night sweats
